Fresh and Local

You have most likely heard the terms “eat local,” “farm to table” or “sourced responsibly.” When we opened Stella, we truly felt we wanted to use the freshest ingredients and buy as local as possible. This includes our produce, cheese, meat, seafood and even beer.

Knowing that we would be making fresh pasta, bread and desserts here in the bakery, we knew we didn’t want to stray from fresh when offering our customers a delicious and authentic dining experience. This move to buy local is at times called trendy but we certainly appreciate the trend and think our customers do as well. The more local the food, the better it tastes because it’s fresh. We either buy products directly from the source or from vendors who deal directly with farms for our produce, grass fed meat and free range chicken, eggs and fresh cheese. We also buy organic coffee locally and nut butters as well as milk, half & half and ice cream.

When you walk into the restaurant, you may smell the aroma of chicken roasting to make a fresh chicken salad or a tomato sauce with fresh herbs that has been simmering for hours, or roasted seasonal vegetables. The use of fresh ingredients goes along with using many recipes passed down through our families. Our grandparents had amazing gardens and our wish is to plant our own garden at Stella.

The wonderful artwork on our walls is the work of Burnt Hills artist, Jennifer Hockford. You can purchase her art and get her info at Stella.

We have also been fortunate to have creative chefs in the kitchen who like preparing amazing specials for lunch, dinner and brunch. There is always something new and delicious on the board.

We hope you will come in and taste the difference!
