Sunday Music Series ~ New at Stella

On Saturday evenings you will always hear music playing at Stella. We feature extremely talented local musicians playing acoustic music in our fireplace room. We have decided to add a monthly afternoon music series and we couldn't be more excited!

Our kickoff event is with the extraordinarily talented Sean Rowe on Sunday, August 27th at 3:00 PM.

Singer and songwriter Sean Rowe's rather astonishing singing voice evokes the sound of the ages. His big rumbling baritone bears traces of John Lee Hooker, Greg Brown, Wilson Pickett, and others, though it is utterly unaffected. Rowe hails from Troy, New York. In his teens, he discovered the blues of Muddy Waters and Hooker as well as the soul music of Marvin Gaye and Ray Charles. He began playing guitar and learning songs by virtually every artist he admired -- and then some. By the time he began playing the local bar scene at 18, he had amassed enough original and cover material to perform four one-hour sets per night. Give a listen to his song "To Leave Something Behind" featured in the movie, 'The Accountant.' I had chills for the final minutes of the movie listening to this incredible, dramatic song. “As far as being in films...I'm a huge movie fan,” Sean explains. “And there's something magical about songs when they attach to cinematic stories. Many times I write with the feeling that a movie scene is playing in my mind so the writing already has a kind of built-in movie set for me. But it's also fun to see what other people do with the song from a director's point of view. It takes on a new life.”

Our second event will be the gifted, awe-inspiring duo, The Sea The Sea, on Sunday, September 24th at 3:00 PM To buy Tickets, Click the Link: Brown Paper Tickets Link

Chuck E. Costa and Mira Stanley, are an Upstate New York based indie folk-pop duo-band. Merging the lyrical integrity of your favorite modern day troubadours with creative, vibrant arrangements and stunning harmonies featuring what Huffington Post calls, “Two of the loveliest male-female voices you might ever hear this or any other year.” The Sea The Sea ushered in 2015 with an inspired collection of new songs, as well as some favorites from their 2014 debut release Love We Are We Love - which has received praise from NPR, American Songwriter, and No Depression, among others. They borrow their act’s name from Xenophon's Anabasis, the ancient tale of Greek soldiers returning to their coastal home after a long arduous battle inland. "The Sea! The Sea!" is a cry of joy.

“The Sea The Sea are ready to take their place among the best young male/female duos now performing. Their sound and their songs are a perfect match of emotional strength and delicate beauty.”- Larry Groce, NPR’s Mountain Stage year.” You can check out their Facebook page and website www.theseathesea.com and listen to their beautifully haunting songs and lovely harmonies.

Please join us for an incredible afternoon of music, friends and Italian food! Our menu for the events will include appetizers, small plates, flatbreads and desserts. Also, mimosas, bloody marys, craft beer, wine and soft drinks will be available.
